Bruce Dear
Work Department
Bruce is Head of the London Real Estate group. He specialises in indirect real estate such as complex fund and commercial structuring for property acquisitions, disposals and leasing work, substantial private sector development work, and the full range of strategic asset and portfolio management. Clients include Legal and General, St. Martins, KPMG, the Swedish National Pension Fund and SEGRO.
Recent deals include:
- Purchase of the Rolls Building, the UK's new commercial court headquarters, for LGPL (£305 million).
- Purchase of Slaughter and May's headquarters, Bunhill Row, for St. Martins (£185 million).
- Purchase of 60 Threadneedle Street, headquarters of Berenberg Bank, for St. Martin's (£186 million).
- Funding and development of the new FA Football University at Burton on Trent for Legal and General (£100 million).
- Purchase of ING Covent Garden Portfolio for Legal and General (£120 million).
- Purchase of 5 Canada Square for St Martins (£385 million).
- Sale of IQ Winnersh for SEGRO (£245 million).
- PfP sale and leaseback for Legal and General (£252 million).
- Advising KPMG in relation to their new headquarters building at 30 North Colonnade and their innovative new client hub at 20 Grosvenor Street.
Over the last fifteen years Bruce has published more than 100 articles on issues of real estate law and policy in national and sector publications. He has lectured for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the London South Bank University and acted as an adviser to the British Property Federation on legislative reform.
