Huw is a Partner in Eversheds' Human Resources Team and advises both private and public sector clients in relation to a wide range of employment law issues.
Huw's clients include Welsh Assembly Government, Sionel Pedwar Cymru (S4C), Westland Helicopters, Principality Building Society, Shaw Healthcare Homes, numerous local authorities and other public sector organisations.
Huw's expertise and experience in the employment field includes, in particular:
- Advising on mass equal pay litigation and strategy for implementing new pay and grading structures;
- Advising on employment issues including TUPE and related matters on project work including shared services initiatives.
- Advising on changing terms and conditions of employment including implementing new pay and grading.
- Strategic management of industrial disputes, including resolution of industrial action.
- Providing strategic advice on undertaking large scale, high profile investigations.
- Reviewing terms and conditions of employment, including Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Defending Employment Tribunal claims, including multiple action claims.
- Advising on a range of individual employment matters, including disciplinary and grievance investigations and long term sickness absence.
- Advising on the exercise of statutory functions.
- Advising in relation to a succession of disciplinary cases and grievances.
- Advising on a range of poor performance and/or long term absence cases.
- Advising on employment and the wider implications of restructuring.
- Providing training and briefing notes and reviewing policies.
- Advising on all aspects of TUPE and related employment protection provisions including inter-relationship with managing change.
Huw is a regular speaker at external conferences including on areas such as Equal Pay, employment issues of Shared Services and Disability Discrimination.
