Christine Barnsley

Christine is an associate in our Real Estate team based in Edinburgh. She is dual qualified (Scotland/England) and is experienced in acting for corporate clients on a wide range of property matters. Christine specialises in energy and real estate finance.
Christine has considerable experience in the energy sector advising lenders, developers, investors, purchasers and sellers in connection with renewable energy projects including large and small on-shore wind, solar and biomass.
She regularly advises clearing banks, international banks and alternative lenders as well as borrowers on various aspects of real estate finance transactions.
Christine also has experience in advising on core real estate transactions acting on behalf of both landlord and tenant in respect of commercial leases and portfolio management, including acquisition and disposals of office and retail properties and real estate support on corporate transactions.
Her recent experience includes: providing Scottish real estate support to BlackRock and Green Investment Bank on their £423million acquisition of offshore and onshore wind farms from Centrica and EIG Global Energy Partners; banking support in respect of acquisition finance for a portfolio of properties, acting on behalf of HSBC plc; and the re-finance of a portfolio of wind farms, acting on behalf of Bayerische Landesbanken.
