Bernd De Marrez

After having obtained his law degree at the university of leuven in july 2010, bernd joined the institute of social law (k.U.Leuven) as an assistant/researcher (september 2010-september 2011). As assistant/researcher he worked on the coordination of pension legislation for workers and self-employed and an academic commission was appointed to coordinate the various texts. He has also assisted in seminars relating to social security law organized by the institute of social law. Bernd has continued to develop his pensions expertise by completing a pension law course during 2010-2011, while he was working as an assistant. Bernd joined the brussels bar in september 2011 and went on to join the human resources department of eversheds in january 2013. Bernd’s recent pensions experience includes: advising companies in collective and individual dismissals covering all employment and pension issues arising out of termination of employment contracts;  pensions implications in restructurings and closure of companies; and  advising on implementing changes to pension benefits, including advice on information and consultation obligations. , Eversheds Sutherland
