Nick specialises in large scale procurements and partnership projects, acting for a wide range of clients in both the public and private sectors for both providers and procurers. Nick's recent specific experience includes: advising the Scottish Police Services Authority in relation to the i6 Programme, a project for the procurement of replacement core operational policing ICT systems across all eight Scottish Police Authorities and related implementation, support and maintenance services. currently lead legal adviser on ICT projects being carried out for DVLA, DSA, Highways Agency and ICO, all of which have been procured using an adaptation of the OGC Model ICT Services agreement and schedules. advising on a number of strategic partnerships including most recently acting as lead adviser in relation to the Integrated Facilities Management stream of the Edinburgh Council's Alternative Business Models programme (a "Fast Track" competitive dialogue procurement) and acting as second partner support to Nigel Sternberg in relation to Lincolnshire Police's strategic partnership. advising the National Policing Improvement Agency on Project Midas (now MobileID), relating to the development and roll out across England of mobile fingerprinting and biometric devices and related back office services and infrastructure. advising on a major competitive dialogue procurement for the Highways Agency (the National Traffic Information Service project) and leading our team advising the Driving Standards Agency on the re-let of the outsourcing of all aspects of the Driver Theory test. Nick has extensive experience of advising public sector bodies on major procurements over a number of years, including advising Central Government (for example, DCLG), Local Government (including Ealing Council), emergency services organisations (including East Midlands Ambulance Service), universities (including Nottingham and Derby), the police (such as Staffordshire) and Government agencies (including the Information Commissioners Office).
