Maivi Ots

Managing Partner Maivi Ots has more than 20 years of experience in advising companies in many different aspects of business. Maivi's long-term clientele comprises both local businesses as well as major international corporations.  

In the Law Office Maivi leads the banking and finance law, corporate law as well as mergers and acquisitions (M&A) practices.  

Being head of the banking and finance law team, Maivi specialises in complex commercial and financing transactions as well as regulatory issues relating to banking and finance. She is also experienced in insurance law issues.

Maivi has extensive experience in counselling in matters related to mergers and acquisitions. Her experience includes advising on more than 400 international deals. She has advised several top value transactions, including a number of transactions that lead up to hundreds of millions in value.

She also plays an important role in the firm’s real estate department. She is involved in large real estate transactions and she has lately been elaboranting unique financing schemes for real estate transactions.

She is currently together with Mattig Management Consultants assigned by EBRD on working of measures for incentivising Estonian capital markets. Maivi is also appointed by the Ministry of Justice as a member of the revision commission of the Estonian Commercial Code. She is also the author of several articles which relate to capital engagement.

Maivi is a member of the Board of the Estonian Bar Association; moreover, she is a delegate in the Corporate Law Committee of the Council of the Bars and Law Societies of Europe. Maivi is also a member of such professional organisations as Estonian Lawyers' Association and the International Bar Association.

Maivi has been a welcomed speaker at a number of public seminars and conferences as well as at corporate training events.
