Wing Chan

Wing is an associate in our litigation and dispute management group in hong kong. He has experience in advising clients on broad range of regulatory issues and commercial disputes.   On the regulatory side, he has represented financial institutions, individuals and listed companies in regulatory investigations conducted by the securities and futures commission, the hong kong monetary authority and the stock exchange of hong kong. Issues involved in these investigations include mis-selling of financial products, anti-money laundering and disclosure of inside information etc. He has also advised clients on a variety of commercial disputes, including contractual disputes, shareholders’ disputes and insolvency/receivership related proceedings. Examples of his experience include: acting for the former directors of a hk-listed company in both trial and appeal in their claim against the company for breach of terms of the share option scheme; acting for a corporation in its claim against its former controlling shareholder and director for breach of contract, misrepresentations and restitution in relation to a failed acquisition in the prc; and acting for the court-appointed receivers in the receivership of shares of a hk company which in turn holds a substantial shareholding in a hk-listed company. In addition, wing has assisted clients in making successful applications to the hong kong court for urgent injunctive reliefs and appointment of provisional liquidators.               , Eversheds Sutherland
