Leonie Tear

Leonie is a principal associate in our fraud & investigations group specialising in financial crime investigations and compliance. Leonie has conducted a number of investigations for companies who suspect they have been the victims of, or involved in, financial crime. Leonie’s experience includes investigating and advising in relation to suspected corruption, fraud, money laundering, us/eu sanctions breaches and insider dealing. Leonie has recently spent 6 months on secondment to an international bank’s global investigations team. Leonie also regularly advises on financial crime compliance, stress testing company’s systems and controls against global best practice. Chambers 2016 states that leonie has “extensive expertise in advising corporates facing allegations of criminal wrongdoing, including bribery cases” and that she is described by observers as "a shining light who is bound to go far - she works extremely hard, knows her subject and works well with clients." , Eversheds Sutherland
