Charlie is a Senior Associate in our Competition, EU & Regulatory team, based in our Hong Kong office.

Charlie advises across a wide spectrum of competition law issues, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, commercial agreements and trade practices. Charlie has worked with clients in a number of sectors, including chemicals, pharmaceuticals, financial services, food, media, mining and resources, rail, renewable energy, retail and water.

Recent work highlights include:

Undertaking a strategic secondment with Cathay Pacific where he filled the role of the airline’s Group Senior Compliance Counsel.  Charlie’s role at the airline involves advising on antitrust, data protection and bribery matters and he is in charge of leading a team of four people.  The secondment was originally only intended to be 4 months in duration but this has now been extended to a year; Advising the UK’s largest manufacturer of commercial catering equipment in relation to a UK Competition and Market’s Authority investigation into minimum advertised pricing; Advising Dairy Crest Limited on the disposal of its dairies business to Muller UK & Ireland Group LLP; Advising a major American brand on the roll out of its distribution platform across Europe including advice on internet sales and sales across third party platforms; Carrying out mock dawn raids at client premises to test how they would respond if they were to be investigated by a competition authority; Delivering face-to-face training to both employees and directors of a number of major UK brands; and Developing and customising the Eversheds Competition Law Online Toolkit for clients with employees located in countries across the world.

 Charlie has recently studied for the King's College London PG Diploma in EU Competition Law and was awarded a distinction.
