Fiona has over 25 years’ experience of advising on pensions matters, acting for employers, trustees, the regulator and the Pensions Ombudsman. She has also international experience of pensions matters including setting up, amending, merging pension schemes, benefit reductions, benefit enhancements, advising on extraction/application of surplus from defined benefit schemes, as well as advising on litigation matters. Her clients include professional trustees, multinational employers and Irish companies.Fiona is a member of the pensions committee of the Law Society of Ireland and former chairman of the Retirement Planning Council of Ireland, a charity established to promote retirement planning. She is a former Council member of the Irish Taxation Institute and the Association of Pensions Lawyers in Ireland. Fiona is also a member of the Irish Taxation Institute. Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland in 2014 she was head of pensions practice at another Irish law firm.
