Krista is a Senior Associate, assistant attorney at law and has more than 7 years of legal experience. Krista specializes mainly in litigation, commercial dispute resolution, cross-border recovery, disputes with the Financial and Capital Market Commission, international commercial arbitration, as well as insolvency and asset restructuring.

Krista has gained significant experience in representing Clients' interests in civil cases, administrative cases, as well as in the Court of Justice of the European Union. Recent experience covers cross-border recovery, challenging of contract’s, disputes regarding contract enforcement, sports law disputes, shareholder disputes, board liability issues, disputes related to the interpretation of the Financial Instrument Market Law (in respect mandatory bid and squeeze out), transfer of business, in claims connected with the execution of construction works, recognition and enforcement of international arbitration awards, insolvency disputes, as well as various issues of applicable law, jurisdiction and enforcement.

Krista has also advised Client’s on complex domestic and international commercial transactions, as well as banking and finance issues related to FinTech area and AML procedures.

Since 2016, Krista is a member of the Latvian Bar Association being Assistant Attorney at Law to Attorney at Law Agris Bitāns.

Recent experience

·       Successful representation of the Client's interests in legal proceedings in the administrative process related to the interpretation of the Financial Instruments Market Law regarding the squeeze out and determination of one share price therein.

·       Representation of several Clients in court regarding challenging of decisions of shareholders meeting and requesting provision of information from shareholders.

·       Representation of Euromin Holdings (Cyprus) Limited in a preliminary ruling proceedings before the Court of Justice of the European Union concerning the interpretation of Directive 2004/25 / EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on takeover bids and Euromin Holdings (Cyprus) Limited as an applicant in administrative proceedings with the defendant the Financial and Capital Market Commission for declaring the decision illegal (in connection with the determination of one share price in the mandatory bid procedure) and imposing an obligation on the Financial and Capital Market Commission to compensate the applicant losses in the amount of EUR 7 million.
