Alex Lane is a Senior Associate in the London pensions team. Alex handles high profile and large scale pensions related projects for a range of the firm’s key clients (across all sectors). He is particularly well versed in regulatory compliance matters, transactions, disputes, and regulatory investigations. Alex is a known specialist within the firm on the pensions aspects of transactions, including acquisitions, auction processes, refinancings, cross-border transactions, restructurings, and private equity matters. As an experienced pensions lawyer, Alex is also the retained legal advisor to a number of trustee boards and pension scheme sponsors. The size and breadth of his client base means that he is adept at managing and advising on a number of cutting edge issues within the pensions industry, including various funding and security arrangements, the implementation of GMP equalisation and rectification, and compliance with Pensions Dashboard requirements. In respect of the latter, Alex is advising two large trustee boards who will be among the first to connect to connect the Dashboard infrastructure. Alex’s versality/breadth of experience is also illustrated by his experience in advising on pensions related litigation and disputes; including administrative claims, claims for rectification, professional negligence claims, and IDRP/Pensions Ombudsman disputes.
