Elizabeth Hyde

Elizabeth is a Senior Associate and Solicitor-Advocate in Eversheds’ Corporate Compliance Group (contentious health and safety). Elizabeth trained with Eversheds and joined the firm in 2003. Elizabeth has in-house experience gained whilst on secondment at Asda.

Elizabeth specialises in the defence of criminal regulatory matters and her experience covers work relating to corporate manslaughter, health and safety, food/drink safety, contentious environmental cases and consumer protection, together with all other aspects of criminal law. She has Rights of Audience in all Higher Courts.

Crisis management

Elizabeth has extensive crisis management experience. Elizabeth supports businesses in responding to major incidents and helps senior and local management bring an emerging situation under control, investigates the cause, provides advice and support during investigations by the authorities and helps to manage communications both internally and externally.

Elizabeth has experience dealing with a wide range of investigations involving regulatory bodies such as the police, HSE, local authorities, Environment Agency, Department for Transport, Drinking Water Inspectorate and the Oil and Pipelines Agency. She advises a wide variety of companies including those in the retail, food, nuclear and energy sectors.

Training

Elizabeth delivers 'in-house' training to clients on topics including corporate manslaughter, accident investigations, crisis management and consumer protection law. Elizabeth has delivered health and safety training to various Boards of directors / senior management teams ranging from PLCs to the Ministry of Defence (Defence Estates).
