Nick is based in our London office with a caseload covering both domestic and international disputes.

His recent experience includes:

advising Wärtsilä in developing a multi-jurisdictional strategy to recover payments totalling €200m from Dutch/Turkish entities following the supply of power generation equipment;

acting as named technical advisor to the mediator in a one day mediation in Qatar to resolve payment dispute relating to a $4bn power and water desalination projects;

advising Hammerson Properties UK plc in High Court proceedings against its design team relating to defects in the Bullring shopping centre. The dispute was successfully resolved through mediation;

advising Lynemouth Power Limited on disputes arising from a £400m biomass conversion project;

successfully defending Qatar National Bank in reported High Court proceedings commenced by a Nigerian bank seeking to set aside a $20m LCIA arbitral award under section 68 of the Arbitration Act;

representing a major Qatari telecommunications company in its successful defence of ICC arbitration proceedings seated in Paris which arose out of a telecoms project in Saudi Arabia;

acting for two separate Qatari oil companies in successfully resolving three disputes with supply chain entities relating to multi-billion dollar construction and engineering projects;

advising a Chinese state owned construction company seeking an injunction in the High Court to prevent a call on a bond;

advising a Qatari government oil and gas supply company in respect of the termination of a contract and stranding of assets following the outbreak of war in Yemen.

Nick has also lectured on the Construction Law and Arbitration Masters course at Leeds Metropolitan University.
