Career

Michael Lepper is a member of the Eversheds Sutherland Trade, Corporate and Employment teams. Before joining Eversheds Sutherland, he completed an internship at the law firm 100 Rhône Avocats in Geneva. His practice areas also include insolvency and recovery, domestic and international litigation, real-estate law, commercial law and contracts, white-collar crime and administrative law.

Michael completed two summer internships at the firms Kane & Kessler P.C. based in New York (USA) and ZPG (Ziegler, Poncet, Grumbach, Carrard, Heinis & Lüscher) in Geneva (2009). He then worked at the French bank BNP Paribas (Suisse) SA in Geneva in various departments with a focus in commodity finance (2011) before joining Credit Suisse in 2013 in Zurich and Geneva as an account manager with a portfolio of clients active in the trading of crude oil and petroleum products.

Memberships

Michael is the chairman of the Commodity Trading Association (CTA) whose main purpose is to represent its members in the trading and shipping industry in Geneva and worldwide. He is also a member of the Ordre des Avocats (OdA) in Geneva and of the Swiss Bar Association (SBA).

Education

Michael studied law at the University of Geneva and obtained his Bachelor’s degree in 2009 and a Master of Law in Economic Laws in 2010. He completed a second Master in International Trading, Commodity Finance & Shipping at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Geneva in 2013. He was admitted to the bar in Switzerland in 2018.
