Career
René Schreiber is a partner in our Tax department and supports national and international companies as well as individuals in local and cross-border tax matters. He has years of experience in the areas of international tax law, M&A transactions, national and cross-border restructurings and succession planning for medium-sized companies. During his professional career, René has been intensively involved in complex questions regarding double taxation agreements (in particular, between Germany and Switzerland) and has advised numerous Swiss and foreign clients on the establishment and expansion of an international corporate structure. He also represents private clients and companies in tax cases before Swiss authorities and courts.
Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, he was a tax partner at two Big 4 firms and at an international law firm in Zurich.
In addition to his work as a tax lawyer, René is actively involved in education and training in Swiss and international tax law. He is a member of the study commission and lecturer for international tax law at the Swiss Institute for Tax Law, Zurich (SIST). Furthermore, he is in charge of the Tax Law course within the LL.M. International Business Law (M.B.L.) program at the European Institute of the University of Zurich.
René Schreiber has authored various publications and articles on national and international tax law. In addition, he has regular speaking engagements at CPD events on national and international tax law (e.g. ISIS Zurich, SUPSI Lugano, Unternehmer Forum Schweiz, fisca - Weiterbildung Steuerpraxis).

Education
René Schreiber graduated from the University of Berne with a licentiate and was subsequently admitted to the bar of the Canton of Aargau. He is also a federally certified tax expert.
