Gemma is a Principal Associate in our Real Estate Dispute Resolution Group and is a member of the Consumer (Retail) and TMT sectors.

She is experienced in a wide range of property disputes and acts for landlords, tenants, developers, development agencies, banks and insolvency practitioners.

Gemma advises on all aspects of “bread and butter” real estate dispute work including debt claims, forfeiture, dilapidations, contentious and non contentious lease renewals, lease termination, rights of light, applications to assign/underlet and residential and commercial possession claims arising out of Compulsory Purchase legislation.

Recent matters include defending portfolio clients against multi million pound debt claims arising out of the Landlord and Tenant (Covenants) Act 1995, playing a key role in a number of substantial projects which involved advising on and successfully delivering bulk assignments within time critical deadlines, running the contentious aspects of a retail client’s acquisition of the assets of a company in administration and defending numerous applications to lift the moratorium and advising a developer company on a claim for fraudulent misrepresentation arising out of the sale of a number of apartments.

Gemma delivers a number of in-house and client training sessions on topics including insolvency, the Landlord and Tenant (Covenants) Act 1995, the Telecommunications Code and the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954.
