Kate is a Principal Associate in our banking group. She specialises in financing for energy & infrastructure projects alongside corporate and acquisition financing. Her recent experience includes: Acting for a bidding consortium in respect of its tender for the construction, maintenance and financing of the £500m final section of the A465 Heads of the Valleys dualling in Wales. Acting for the project company to The Royal Liverpool Hospital PFI termination, a much-publicised and ultimately successful handback of the hospital construction project to the Government, following the collapse of Carillion as lead contractor. Advising Pensions Infrastructure Platform (PiP) on the senior acquisition facility for its purchase of a portfolio of onshore wind farms in locations across the UK and Ireland, comprising a total of 64 turbines, from Scottish Equity Partners. Advising CGN Europe Energy on the incumbent financing in respect of its acquisition of a 75% stake in the 650MW Markbygden project in Sweden from GE Capital (GE) and Green Investment Group (GIG) part of Macquarie Group. Ongoing advisory work for the borrower to multiple project financings for onshore wind farms in Ireland to accommodate regulatory and project changes. Further notable experience includes: Advising the leading infrastructure private equity house consortium (as owner and lessor) on the manufacturing, leasing and maintenance of the new fleet of rolling stock required to operate the services on the expanded Thameslink Network with a total funding requirement of c.£1.7bn; Legal advisor to a Russian energy investor on their successful funded acquisition of UK oil & gas assets by way of a secured reserve base lending facility.
