Helen is a senior member of the firm's national education team. She leads an all service team which acts for the majority of universities and colleges in Wales and SW England.

Helen's recent experience includes;

Advising a university on the imposition of the national higher education framework agreement on pay and grading.   Advising a number of chartered universities on the reform of the model statute dealing with the discipline, dismissal and grievances of academic staff. Advising several universities on the topic of fixed term research staff, which included dealing with Tribunal claims of unfair dismissal and claims for a declaration of permanent status. Advising numerous education institutions on complex points of redundancy law in connection with the economic downturn, including the design of redundancy schemes to manage specialist higher education pension scheme and age discrimination risks. Advising a university on complex, high value, whistleblowing litigation by high profile research staff, which included dealing with regulatory bodies and research councils. Advising several institutions on specialist issues associated with the employment of clinical academic staff, including the challenges posed by the joint employment contracts under which they are engaged.

Helen has been named in Legal 500 as being "highly recommended by clients for her work with higher education institutions." She has also been appointed a Governor of a University. Helen is a regular speaker at external events organised by Universities.
