Ian specialises in acting for public and private sector clients on complex, high value, urban regeneration and development projects, joint ventures/PPPs, mixed use schemes, business parks and housing schemes. Recent experience includes: Acting for Yorkshire County Cricket Club on the North/South Stand redevelopment and other facilities at Headingley Stadium, Leeds - the £45m scheme being funded by Legal & General will see the capacity increased to approx. 18,500 and secure several games during the 2019 Cricket World Cup and future Ashes test matches. Leading the team advising London Legacy Development Corporation on the development agreements for the latest building to be constructed for the BBC at East Bank, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford. The building will house the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Singers and part of BBC Rock and Pop. It forms part of the wider project which will provide a new V&A, a 550-seat theatre for Sadler's Wells, and a new campus for UAL's London College of Fashion. Advising Harworth Estates on strategic acquisitions at the Northern Gateway scheme. This is earmarked in the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework as the next major logistics scheme along the M62 corridor (Junction 18). Acting for Alpha Investments on a residential led scheme in Horwich that will provide approx. 1,700 homes and associated retail once development is finally completed. Advising the University of Manchester on the North Campus regeneration project. This 11.8 hectare former University of Manchester city centre campus has been identified as a transformational strategic development site by Manchester City Council and is to be redeveloped to create a major mixed use scheme with opportunities for office, residential, retail, leisure, hotels, research development and integrate heritage assets to create public realm space.
