Brazil > Dispute Resolution: Arbitration

Cescon Barrieu is a key port of call for clients seeking representation in domestic and international arbitration proceedings, most notably those arising from corporate and contractual disputes. Mandates involving breaches of contract and post-M&A issues are indeed core areas of activity for the team, which is also skilled in cases concerning construction projects, administrative law and distribution agreements. At the helm of the practice, São Paulo-based Carlos David Albuquerque Braga is a reference for corporate and shareholder disputes, while Gabriel Seijo Leal de Figueiredo in Salvador regularly advises on contractual conflicts. The practice was bolstered in August 2023 by the addition of a team of dispute resolution specialists from boutique MAMG Advogados, including the now co-head Paulo Macedo Garcia Neto, whose arbitration experience includes proceedings under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the Brazilian Canadian Chamber of Commerce (CAM-CCBC), and Mariana Capela Lombardi Moreto, who is adept at representing energy and infrastructure clients before domestic and international arbitral institutions. Mauricio Fabbri is a name to not for arbitration and alternative dispute resolution.
