Career
Dan Stein is Co-Head of Weil’s global White Collar Defense, Regulatory, and Investigations practice. He counsels financial services firms and other public and private companies, as well as individual clients, in connection with a broad range of complex situations, including U.S. Securities Exchange Commission and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority investigations and enforcement actions. A first-chair trial lawyer, Dan has extensive experience in regulatory enforcement, government and internal investigations, white collar criminal defense, and complex civil litigation. Prior to his career in private practice, Dan served for a decade in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York (S.D.N.Y.) and was Chief of the Criminal Division, where he oversaw all of the S.D.N.Y.’s criminal prosecutions and investigations.
