Career

Michael Nissan heads Weil’s Private Equity Executive Compensation & Benefits practice and is based in New York. Michael primarily represents private equity funds and their portfolio companies in structuring management compensation arrangements. He also represents management teams and senior executives in connection with their employment arrangements and investment professionals in connection with their joining and separating from private investment firms. Michael’s clients include Advent International, Berkshire Partners, Centerbridge Partners, CVC Capital Partners, Lee Equity Partners, OMERS, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, Providence Equity Partners, PSG, PSP Investments, Thomas H. Lee Partners and TruArc Partners. Michael was the founding Chairman of the Private Investment Fund Forum. For over 20 years, Michael taught Private Investment Funds at Columbia Law s and has also lectured at Stanford Law School and Harvard Business School.
