Lois Deasey – Weil, Gotshal & Manges (London) LLP

With numerous ‘highly technical and first-class lawyers’ in its ranks, Weil, Gotshal & Manges (London) LLP excels in providing ‘high-quality advice on complex situations’ for debtors, creditors and office holders, where it often works in a collegiate fashion with its acclaimed leveraged finance and high-yield practices. Co-headed by the ‘very impressive’ Neil Devaney and Andrew Wilkinson, the team excels at advising on sophisticated cross-border mandates involving layers of debt throughout the capital structure, and is adept at implementing restructurings through European processes as well as via US Chapter 11. Lois Deasey has a vibrant bondholder practice in particular, with both par and secondary investors benefitting from her ‘commercial and pragmatic’ advice on distressed and special situations. Gemma Sage is adept at handling restructurings and formal insolvency procedures for both debtors and creditors and is also a key member of the team, as is Mark Lawford, who is noted for his expertise at handling both out-of-court restructurings and insolvency litigation.
