Guilhèm Becvort joins White & Case as a partner in Luxembourg

Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Tax Practice with the addition of Guilhèm Becvort as a partner in Luxembourg.

"Demand for Luxembourg law tax advice across the Firm has continued to grow since the opening of our office there in early 2022," said White & Case partner Sang I. Ji, who leads the Firm's Tax Practice. "With a significant majority of global private equity investments structured using Luxembourg vehicles and the importance of tax planning and risk management on complex, cross-border transactions, Guilhèm's addition is crucial to bolster our tax practice and support our global transactional practices."

Guilhèm specialises in international and Luxembourg corporate tax law, advising on the tax aspects of cross-border real estate, debt and private equity investments and on the structuring of regulated and unregulated alternative investment fund platforms. He also advises on the tax aspects of corporate restructurings, securitisations and capital markets transactions. Guilhèm joins White & Case from Allen & Overy, where he was counsel.

"Guilhèm is skilled in national and international tax law, with a particular focus on cross-border transactions and experience across a range of sectors that align with the private equity and M&A strategies of the Firm," said Thomas Glauden, White & Case Office Executive Partner in Luxembourg. "This expertise makes him a great addition to our growing Luxembourg office and our private equity and funds clients in EMEA and globally."

White & Case partner and Vice Chair Oliver Brettle said: "We have been making strategic investments in market leading private equity and M&A lateral partners, including in our global fund formation capabilities. The recent addition of funds partners Emmanuel Gutton in Luxembourg, Emily Brown and Lavanya Raghavan in London, Phillip Sacks in Dubai, Omar Hemady in Boston and Eriko Sakata in Tokyo, coupled with the continued growth of Luxembourg as a destination of choice for private equity and other investment funds, has led to increased demand from clients for dedicated Luxembourg tax expertise. The arrival of Guilhèm, an experienced tax lawyer, will be particularly valuable to our funds clients."
