Career
George Howell is Chair Emeritus of the firm’s Executive Committee and former head of its Tax and ERISA practice. George’s practice focuses on the tax aspects of REITs, private investment funds, securitizations, and complex financial products. He is recognized nationally for his in-depth experience in the formation, structuring and financing of REITs. He is a former chair of the American Bar Association Tax Section and a former president of the American College of Tax Counsel. George has been active in REITs and real estate capital markets for more than 30 years.
