Career

Mr. Vivarelli’s practice focuses on intellectual property, including trade secret and patent litigation, patent prosecution and counseling. He represents clients in high-stakes trade secrets and patent litigation, with a particular emphasis on software-related innovations in the financial services and oil and gas industries. He has served as trial counsel in several software-related trade secrets and patent matters, and has also been lead counsel in a number of Patent Office proceedings.

Mr. Vivarelli also manages the several large patent portfolios, counseling clients on license agreements and directing patent prosecution strategies in software-related technologies including electronic parking meters, financial transaction systems, consumer payment systems, mobile communications, and data storage systems.

Mr. Vivarelli is admitted to the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and contributes to Hunton Andrews Kurth’s client alerts.
