Career

Mr. Wickersham’s practice focuses on corporate and securities transactions for public and private REITs and investment banks. He has acted as issuer’s counsel and as underwriters’ counsel in IPOs and other public and private offerings of equity and debt securities, and he advises his publicly traded clients on corporate governance and SEC compliance matters.  Mr. Wickersham’s particular concentration is in companies that elect to be taxed as real estate investment trusts for federal income tax purposes (REITs).

Hunton Andrews Kurth’s Real Estate Capital Markets practice group has handled more than 1,100 capital markets transactions for more than 210 public and private real estate companies, including more than 155 initial public offerings (IPOs) and Rule 144A equity offerings. The group has served as counsel in 20 IPOs and Rule 144A equity offerings of lodging REITs, including 14 as issuer’s counsel.
