Wim Nauwelaerts is a Partner in the Hunton & Williams Brussels office. He is a Belgian-qualified attorney whose practice focuses on European data protection matters, with a particular emphasis on privacy issues in life sciences and new media.

Prior to joining Hunton & Williams in 2010, Mr. Nauwelaerts was counsel at another U.S.-based law firm. He is recognized as a leading privacy practitioner in Chambers Global 2010 and Legal 500 (Belgium) 2010. Mr. Nauwelaerts has written and spoken widely on privacy-related topics, such as cloud computing, interest-based advertising, cross-border discovery and privacy compliance in pharmaceutical research.

Mr. Nauwelaerts obtained his LLM from the University of Georgia School of Law, USA, in 1994, and his JD (magna cum laude) from the University of Brussels, Belgium, in 1992.
