Claire François is an Associate in the Hunton & Williams Brussels office. She is a French-qualified attorney whose practice focuses on EU data protection law with an emphasis on French law.

Ms. François advises clients on a variety of French and international data compliance projects, including implementation of global data management strategies, international data transfers (e.g., Safe Harbor, model contracts, binding corporate rules) and local data compliance (e.g., registrations with the French Data Protection Authority). She also represents clients before the French Data Protection Authority.

Ms. François is a member of the Paris Bar, of the Brussels Bar (E-List), and of the International Association of Privacy Professionals ("IAPP).

Ms. François obtained an LLM in European and Comparative Law from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom, in 2004, an LLM in European Law (magna cum Laude) from the Institute for European Studies of the Vrije Universiteit Brussels, Belgium, in 2002, and an LLM in European Law from the University of Paris Panthéon Sorbonne, France, in 2001.
