Career

Since 1987 Rosemary has specialised in privacy and data protection law. Her practice spans the field of information law. She works for private and public sector as well as third sector clients. She has worked on international projects for bodies such as the European Commission and the Council of Europe and on drafting privacy laws for other jurisdictions. She is a senior consultant attorney at Hunton Andrews Kurth where she advises on high-level privacy, data protection and confidentiality issues.

She is the author of the standard textbook Data Protection Law and Practice (5th edition published 2020), A Guide to the General Data Protection Regulation, (February 2017) Data Protection Law and Practice published by Sweet & Maxwell 4th edition 2012, supplement 2014. Jay is a former contributing editor on data protection to the Supreme Court Practice (White Book) and the Encyclopaedia of Data Protection and International Data Protection Law. Numerous articles, speeches and conference papers.
