Career

Giuliano Colombo advises debtors, directors, equity partners and shareholders, official and ad hoc creditors' committees, potential investors and financial sponsors, in judicial reorganizations, prepackaged reorganizations and out-of-court restructurings; debt recovery; DIP financing, extrajudicial liquidation and intervention of financial institutions; commercial and civil litigation. Giuliano is usually called to lead the representation of ad hoc committees of bondholders in cross-border restructuring procedures, including in multi-billion dollar cases such as Oi S.A., Odebrecht Oil & Gas, OEA and OGX. He took part in almost all highly complex cases involving debtors from different market segments and industries, such as aviation, auto parts, automotive, telecommunications, energy, oil and gas, sugar and ethanol, mining, retail, real estate, construction and food. Giuliano has been a member of the firm’s steering committee since 2018. Further, he was part of the interministerial committee that gave the final wording to the Brazilian Corporate Restructuring and Insolvency Act (LRF). Giuliano has lectured and written extensively on Brazilian bankruptcy law and insolvency matters in Brazil and abroad. He has worked as foreign associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom - New York office, at the Corporate Restructuring department (2007/2008).
