Career

José Luiz Homem de Mello has been a partner at Pinheiro Neto Advogados since 2005. He is specialized in corporate finance, including financing transactions, regulatory matters, capital markets and M&A, and advises regularly many financial institutions and fintechs. José Luiz participates in the main transactions, IPOs, fund raising, and projects of the financial services industry, advising domestic and international clients in new products, fintech solutions, payments, asset management, subordinate and hybrid instruments, virtual assets and tokenization, as well as joint ventures and corporate reorganizations. He is a member of the Corporate Governance Committee on Financial Institutions of IBGC (Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance), coordinates the alumni association of the University of Chicago and is a coordinator of the corporate and capital markets chapter of IBRADEMP (Brazilian Institute of Corporate Law). He practiced in New York in the Foreign Lawyers Program of Sullivan & Cromwell (2000-2001).
