José Rubens Battazza Iasbech mainly practices in competition law and corporate and commercial litigation. As a member of the competition practice at Pinheiro Neto Advogados since 2009, José Rubens has considerable experience in representing clients in complex competition issues, including merger filings, investigations into anticompetitive practices (i.e., cartels, vertical restrictions and abuses of dominant position, among others), negotiation of cease-and-desist commitments with the Brazilian antitrust authority (CADE), antitrust judicial litigation and antitrust counseling in general. As regards the corporate and commercial litigation practice, José Rubens is used to dealing with complex cases in a creative and innovative manner, and has experience in civil liability, corporate issues, disputes over contractual breach, international cooperation (letters rogatory, recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments) and with the appeal system before the higher courts.
