Mr. Zamarrón regularly advises domestic and international underwriters, issuers, financial guaranty insurers, liquidity providers, Mexican pension funds and rating agencies on structured financial transactions, both public and private, across multiple industries and sectors, and financial regulation.  Mr. Zamarrón has worked on some of the most innovative capital markets, structured finance, and asset securitization transactions in Mexican history, including the first-ever Special Purpose Acquisition Company or SPAC, the first-ever mortgage REIT, the first-ever project bond listed in the Mexican Stock Exchange, the first-ever Investment Project Certificates (known as CERPIs), the first-ever covered bond, the first-ever domestic residential mortgage-backed securitizations, the first-ever retail and wholesale auto loan securitizations, the first-ever student loan securitization, the first-ever asset-backed commercial paper conduit, the first-ever listed structured instrument (known as CKDs) and the vast majority of CKD listings done so far in Mexico, including some of largest issuance in Mexican history. Mr. Zamarrón regularly counsels companies and Mexican pension funds on compliance with Mexican financial regulation and related corporate governance matters, and has assisted the Mexican Stock Exchange and the Mexican National Banking and Securities Commission in developing regulation.

Mr. Zamarrón has been recognized as a Leading Lawyer in Capital Markets by publications such as Chambers Latin America: Latin America´s Leading Lawyers for Business, The Legal 500, Who’s Who Legal, and Latin Lawyer 250.

Mr. Zamarrón obtained his law degree (JD) in 2002 from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, with honors, among the top 3.93% of his class. He obtained his LL.M degree from Columbia University in 2005, where he was named Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.

Mr. Zamarrón joined the Firm in 2002.  He worked as Foreign Associate in the New York office of Cleary Glottieb Steen Hamilton LLP in 2005-2006 and worked in various prestigious Mexican law firms since 1998.
