Career
Brook Greenberg, KC is a leading British Columbia litigator with a stellar reputation in complex commercial litigation, including banking and forestry litigation. He has also been counsel in numerous proceedings relating to substantial construction disputes. Brook has significant experience both regionally and nationally and has appeared before all levels of court including the Supreme Court of Canada.
Clients seek Brook out for representation in civil litigation, arbitration and regulatory matters. Brook ensures that clients' business objectives are the primary focus of the litigation strategy.
Brook has been an elected Bencher of the Law Society of British Columbia since 2016. He is currently serving as First Vice President of the Law Society, as well as Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee, Chair of the Trust Review Task Force, and a member of both the Executive Committee and the Truth and Reconciliation Advisory Committee. He has previously served as Chair of the Law Society Discipline Committee, Chair of the Mental Health Task Force, Vice Chair of the Lawyer Development Committee, Vice Chair of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee, as well as a member of the Ethics Committee, the Access to Legal Services Advisory Committee, the Complainants’ Review Committee, and the Unauthorized Practice Committee. Brook is also currently the Law Society of British Columbia’s nominee to serve on the Council of the Federation of Canadian Law Societies, where he serves on a number of Federation Committees, including Chairing the Federation’s Standing Committee on Wellness.
Brook taught Civil Procedure as an Adjunct Professor at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at The University of British Columbia from 2006 to 2022. He was a member of the planning committee and a featured presenter in the videos used to create the Advocacy Toolkit; an award winning learning resource provided by CLE BC. Brook frequently appears as a guest instructor at professional ethics courses at both the University of British Columbia and the University of Victoria. He also often presents at CLE courses related to civil litigation, forestry, professional ethics, mental health and substance use issues, and other topics.
