Career

Clive Langley is a partner within the Corporate department.

Clive has extensive experience in corporate and commercial law as well as international finance. He has particular expertise in advising on and structuring asset-financed transactions, regularly advising both lenders and borrowers on a wide range of matters.

Prior to joining Appleby in 2005, he worked for the international law firm Weil Gotshal & Manges in their London and Silicon Valley offices.

Clive has spoken at Business Bermuda events (now Bermuda Business Development Agency) at the Harvard Club, New York on the topic of asset finance. He has also written articles for Legal Week, Financial Regulation International and Business Bermuda Nexus in respect of The Companies Amendment (No. 2) Act 2011 and aircraft and shipping. Clive also authored the Bermuda sections of the First Edition 2016 Aviation Finance from Practical Law. He co-wrote the Bermuda sections for Shipping Finance Ed.III, published by Euromoney Books.

The team is also home to Matthew Ebbs-Brewer, who heads up the funds and investment team.
