Career

Gemma advises on all aspects of restructuring and insolvency, corporate finance, banking and regulatory law.

Having qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales in 2009, prior to joining Appleby, Gemma spent eight years in the restructuring and insolvency team of a leading international law firm. Gemma’s experience covers contentious and non-contentious insolvency and business restructuring advice to insolvency practitioners, institutional lenders and major corporates. She has extensive experience advising lenders on their security net, including the lender’s potential exposure, enforcement options and possible enhancements that could be made, in each case.

Since her move to Jersey, Gemma has broadened her banking and regulatory experience, advising financial institutions on all aspects of regulatory compliance including substantial restructurings driven by regulatory requirements, corporate simplification or rationalisation. She also advises clients on the anti-money laundering legal and regulatory framework in Jersey.

Position

Gemma is Counsel within the Corporate department in Jersey.

Gemma qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales in 2009.
