Career

​Andries focuses on employment advisory work relating to individual and collective labour law and labour litigation.  He has experience advising on grievances, disciplinary charge sheets, disciplinary processes, disciplinary hearings, retrenchments (including large scale retrenchments), transfers of businesses as going concerns, unfair dismissal disputes, unfair labour practice disputes, deemed employment disputes and contracts of employment.  He also has experience in drafting collective agreements and picketing rules. He has assisted clients in obtaining exemptions from certain sections of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, such as daily and weekly rest periods, meal intervals and night work.  He has litigated in the CCMA, Labour Courts and Labour Appeal Court.​​
