Career

Kirsty specialises in environmental law and works predominantly in the energy, mining, oil and gas, healthcare and industrial sectors. Kirsty has a scientific background and advises on a wide array of technically complex environmental issues. She has considerable experience advising on environmental risks and liabilities in the context of a broad range of commercial transactions, as well as listings on various stock exchanges. She is also experienced in contractual drafting, writing legal opinions, conducting due diligence investigations and legal environmental audits. A large part of Kirsty’s practice involves assisting clients with environmental challenges, including appeals, compliance notices, directives, and High Court judicial review proceedings.

Kirsty has also been extensively involved in advising on the South African Government’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP) and the Risk Mitigation Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (RMIPPPP).
