Position
Jessica Robinson is a senior counsel based in Walkers’ Guernsey office, specialising in advising on M&A transactions, corporate restructurings and corporate finance matters.
Her experience includes M&A transactions involving regulated trust company service providers, as well as a major Middle East acquisition for Amazon.com Inc.
Jessica has worked in Walkers’ BVI, Guernsey and Jersey offices, and advises on BVI, Cayman and Guernsey law.
Prior to moving offshore, she practised in the London office of a major international firm for five years, during which time she completed two secondments with major banking clients. Jessica also completed another secondment with a major international bank in Jersey, providing training and designing and implementing robust internal legal procedures.

Career
Prior to joining Walkers, Jessica worked for five years in the corporate department of Dentons in London, specialising in mergers and acquisitions.
While at Dentons she was seconded to the legal team of the General Counsel at Virgin Money, and to Citibank, providing assistance on general legal matters as well as larger structured finance projects.

Described as ‘market leaders in listed funds,’ Walkers acts for a number of funds and corporates in relation to IPOs and delistings, with additional expertise in the issuance of notes. Craig Cordle leads the team, offering experience in TISE listings, SPAC structuring and matters pertaining to the daily operation of listed funds. Matt Sanders augments the group’s listed funds experience, and is also a key contact for public M&A. Jessica Robinson is able to advise on capital markets transactions with BVI and Cayman law aspects.

M&A and corporate structuring specialist Matt Sanders leads the team in conjunction with Craig Cordle, who focuses on the structuring of and transactions led by investment funds in addition to private and public M&A. Tax advice forms a key part of Chris Hutley-Hurst‘s practice, while Jessica Robinson occupies a niche in M&A involving trust companies. Charlotte Gonçalves joined the team from Mourant in August 2023, advising investment funds on their transactions and the relevant regulatory regimes.

Walkers handles a range of contentious and regulatory matters for its insurance sector clients and is also tasked with assisting clients looking to set up specialist vehicles, including captives and cell companies, in Guernsey. Jessica Robinson has overseen a number of transactions in the insurance sector, and is also able to assist with the restructuring of existing insurance businesses. Sarah Brehaut is the key contact for clients facing regulatory proceedings, while Adam Cole acts for insurers, policyholders and intermediaries in disputes concerning professional indemnity and D&O coverage.
