Position

Sara Hall is a partner in Walkers' Global Regulatory & Risk Advisory Group. With almost 30 years' experience in global senior in-house roles as well as in private practice, Sara now practises Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands and Bermuda law.

She specialises in financial services and international regulation, as well as digital assets, decentralised autonomous organisations, cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens.

Sara’s global client base is made up of international law firms, financial institutions, custodians, exchanges, founders, directors and investors. She advises them on the scope of regulation, as well as anti-money laundering and sanctions compliance, data protection, and tax-related Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) initiatives like economic substance.

Sara also often works with external counsel advising businesses on the impact of regulation in investment hub jurisdictions. She leads on licence application processes, and supports them with ongoing regulatory obligations.

Career

Prior to joining Walkers' London office in January 2019, Sara held senior leadership roles at well-known financial services institutions. This included Global Head of Regulatory Compliance at a European headquartered global bank and Head of Global Litigation at an Italian headquartered global bank.

Sara also worked as a senior counsel at the UK financial services regulator (now the UK Financial Conduct Authority) and held a number of senior roles at a US global bank. Sara began her legal career in an international magic circle law firm headquartered in London, England and has enjoyed a number of postings overseas.

Qualifications:
