Career

Matheus Bertolo Piconez is a partner at Veirano Advogados and integrates the Tax practice. He also practices in the wealth and tax planning area.

He deals with the tax aspects of cross-border transactions international taxation issues, prepares tax opinions in areas such as real estate, telecommunications, transportation and logistics, beauty industry, software and technology businesses, oil and gas, entertainment industry and financial and insurance sectors. He also deals with tax treaties and transfer pricing rules, tax issues in mergers and acquisitions, and tax matters involving individuals and legal entities, as well as evaluating tax risks in due diligence proceedings.

Matheus is an active member of the Tax Law Commissions of State Bar Associations OAB/RJ, OAB/SP – Pinheiros chapter, Brazilian Association of Tax Law – ABDF and International Fiscal Association – IFA.

Before joining Veirano Advogados, Matheus Piconez worked in large law firms and was an international tax associate at the law firm Grant, Hermann, Schwartz & Klinger in New York from 2010 to 2012.

Matheus is also a professor in many educational institutions and give lectures regarding many tax aspects.
