Augusto Cesar Barbosa de Souza specializes in corporate law and M&A and currently heads the Corporate and M&A practice in the firm. He counts on extensive experience in connection with domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate and financial restructurings as well as in arbitration involving corporate disputes. Augusto has also worked extensively on corporate and contractual matters in several industries, including the pharmaceutical, information technology, consumer products, transport, and petrochemical sectors.

Augusto along with his team provide advice on both domestic and cross-border share and asset acquisitions and divestments in Brazil. He and his team perform among other tasks preliminary due diligence, draft and negotiate acquisition documents, investment, joint venture and shareholders agreements, and also dedicate special attention to post-acquisition work by providing general legal counseling throughout the integration process.
