Position

Oscar Aguilar Valdez is a partner at Beccar Varela. He co-heads the firm’s Public Law Department.

His practice areas include public procurement, infrastructure concessions and public private partnerships, public works, economic regulation of utilities and public interest activities, public finance, land and zoning, project financing and governmental liability.

Career

He has represented local and foreign clients in complex public law litigation cases before federal and provincial judiciaries, including the Federal Supreme Court of Justice, and has acted as local counsel in international arbitration proceedings under the rules of ICC and ICSID. Likewise, he has acted as expert witness in international arbitration cases in matters related to public law. He has also participated in transactions related to the energy, water and sewerage, communications, ports, transport and public finance sectors and has assisted public sector authorities on matters related to his areas of expertise.

Education

Oscar obtained his Law degree from Universidad Católica Argentina (1993) and his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Administrative Law from Universidad Austral, Argentina (Magna Cum Laude, 1993).

He is professor of Administrative Law at several Argentine and Latin American universities. He has participated as speaker in several congresses on matters related to public law and is author of more than forty publications in the public law field.
