He specializes in corporate, commercial and banking law. Within his area of specialization he advises on privatizations, restructurings, foreign investments, capital market transactions (national and abroad), M&As, derivatives, securitizations, trusts and exchange controls.

Roberto E. Silva, Jr. joined Marval O'Farrell Mairal in 1993 and has been a partner since 1996. Prior to joining the firm, he worked for the law firm Shearman & Sterling in New York in 1991 and 1992 and for Cárdenas, Hope and Otero Monsegur between 1984 and 1990.

He is a member of the Buenos Aires City Public Bar and member of several committees of the Banking Law Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA): E1 Legal Opinions (96-97) and Innovations in Financing Transactions (07-10).

He graduated as a lawyer from the Universidad de Buenos Aires in 1988 and obtained an MA at the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign in 1991.
