Mr. Del Villar has a broad trajectory and professional experience in providing legal advice and support to companies and institutions on consumer law and compliance issues based on their different legal needs.
For over 10 years, he worked professionally at the Chilean National Consumer Service. Initially as Deputy Director and later as Director from 2018 to 2022, he actively participated in the legislative processing of various regulations related to consumer rights within SERNAC's framework to promote the defense and respect of consumers' rights, protecting them from company practices and behaviors that impact their decisions.
His leadership and professionalism have been recognized. During his tenure at the Chilean National Consumer Service, the organization received the “Annual Award for Institutional Excellence 2019” and in 2020 achieved the Innovation Award “Concurso Funciona!” in the Central State Administration category.
Additionally, he led the institution's submission process for Chile to the “Voluntary Peer Review of Consumer Protection Law and Policy” organized by UNCTAD in 2020, where international experts and government consumer protection agencies from the US (FTC), Germany (BVL), and Korea (KCA) participated. The approval and recommendations were presented to the Intergovernmental Group of Experts in Geneva, Switzerland, in July 2021, making Chile the first OECD member country to review its consumer protection system.
Mr. Del Villar is a leading expert in consumer rights, so frequently is require by the media to provide information on current and relevant issues for the public in this field. Additionally, he participates in forums, seminars, and instances of reflection and dialogue on his areas of legal expertise in the academic or organizational fields.Languages

He has over 10 years of university teaching experience in undergraduate and postgraduate programs, in courses on consumer law, corporate law, and antitrust law at prestigious institutions such as Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, Universidad del Desarrollo.
