Career
Julio Caballero is a renowned specialist in employment, collective bargaining and social security matters with a vast domestic and cross-border experience in such areas.
Prior to co-founding the firm, he was a partner and leader of the Labour and Social Security Law practice at Bruchou, Fernández Madero, Lombardi & Mitrani (2005-2007). He was Labour Law Manager of the Techint Group Legal Department (1987-2005). He also served as an officer at the National Labor Courts (1980-1987). He is an international advisor in labour law and social security matters and regularly participates in collective bargaining agreements in several countries.
In addition, he has a well recognized experience in advising clients on labour and social security issues in connection with M&As in different countries such as Brazil, Canada, China, Japan, Mexico, Romania, Peru, United Kingdom, United States and Venezuela, among others.
Julio Caballero is an advisor to the Unión Industrial Argentina (UIA) and the Secretary of its Social Policy Department. He is also an advisor to the Asociación de Industriales Metalúrgicos de la República Argentina (ADIMRA) and a member of its negotiation committee on collective bargaining for the industry. He has been an advisor to the Cámara Argentina de la Construcción (CAC) and to the Cámara de Exploración y Producción de Hidrocarburos (CEPH), representing them on the negotiation of their collective bargaining agreements. He was part of the negotiating committee on numerous collective bargaining agreements by company and/or establishment. Additionally, he was a member of several tri-party technical commissions created to produce regulatory initiatives on the labor and social security field and is a technical advisor representing the manufacture industry to the Council for Employment, Productivity and Minimum Adjustable Living Wages.
Mr. Caballero has been a consultant for the International Labour Organization (ILO) and is also a professor of the post-graduate courses at the Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA) (Specialization in Labour and Social Security Law), Universidad Austral (Postgraduate Certification in Labour Law and Labour Relations) and Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero (Master in Labour Law and International Labour Relations).
He is the author of several articles and monographic works appearing in specialized publications and a frequent lecturer on matters related to his areas of practice.
Julio Caballero has been repeatedly recommended as one of the “Leaders in their field” (Labour & Employment-Argentina) by Chambers Latin America. He was appointed as one of the specialists in Management Labour & Employment by Who’s who: Argentina. Additionally, he has been recommended by international peers as one of the specialists within Labor & Employment Law, published by Best Lawyers.
