Career

Carlos is a partner at Consortium Legal – Nicaragua, with more than 19 years of experience in the agroindustry, real estate, financial, and retail sectors in Nicaragua. He provides strategic counsel on tax, real estate, and corporate aspects in important transactions and agreements to foreign investors, as well as large and medium sized companies established in the country.

He has participated in different projects and acquisitions in recent years that include corporate and financial restructurings within the agro-industrial and energy sectors, involving assets of more than US$250 million.  He has also advised on regional financings, due diligence processes for the acquisition of a Nicaraguan Bank, acquisitions of real estate assets for foreign investors, and residential real estate projects, among others.

WORK HIGHLIGHTS

Advised to United States company in the negotiation process and agreement for the acquisition of an exporting industrial factory under a free zone regime, a business valued at more than US $ 25MM. He has led the team of advisers in the sale of a group of companies in the chemical industrial sector, with operations throughout the region. He has advised, from the tax and corporate perspective, the regional corporate restructuring of a group in the retail sector.
