Career

Before joining John W Ffooks & Co, Adrien ran his own practice in Rwanda from 1993 to 1997 and was a partner at Kazeneza & Partners in Kigali from 1997 to 2010.

His specialisations include natural resources, telecommunication, banking and all aspects of commercial and business law across Francophone Africa, especially in the OHADA countries. Adrien advises a variety of local and international clients including investment funds with advice relating to the capital market and loan practice; insurance and reinsurance companies; merchant banks about international corporate law, merger and acquisitions practice and major industrials advising all aspects of their business including international trade law, international finance law, international investment protection law – including intellectual property issues –, international sale of goods, franchising and product law, real estate and construction law.

In addition to his client work, Adrien has led the research team for the OHADA chapter of the Bankruptcy Strategies publication of Aspatore. He has also created the most comprehensive database of OHADA-country knowledge, both on a supra-national treaty level and on a country-by-country basis. This gives Adrien and his team unparalleled access to texts and information in countries across the region. Adrien is fluent in French and English
